Patriotic Quilt Challenges

The Quilter s' Guild Acadienne 2021-2022 Quilt Challenge is to create a quilt that reflects a patriotic theme for the United Stated of America.

 

The predominant colors should be red, white and/or blue.

The quilt can be any size, any pattern, and any style.

The challenge shall be presented at the August 2021 QGA General Meeting.

The entries will be collected at the February 2022 meetings (day and evening).

The membership will vote on all of the entries at the March 2022 meetings and the awards presented at the April 2022 meetings.

RULES OF THE CHALLENGE

  • The quilt or wall hanging must be completed by the guild member and may be quilted by a third party

  • The quilt or wall hanging shall have three layers (top, middle and backing)

  • The entry must be quilted by hand, machine, or combination of both or tied

  • It must have a binding, hanging sleeve, and label (It is recommended to use the instructions below)

  • Must be completed AFTER September 2021

  • A quilter may submit more than one entry

  • The label shall have the following information:

    • The namee of the quilt​

    • The name the creator of the quilt

    • The name of the quilter (if needed)

    • Acknowledgement of the pattern name and/or designer (if used)

    • Date of completion

    • Dimensions of completed quilt or wall hanging (length and width)

  • Judging Categories:​

    • Viewer's Choice​

    • Judges' Choice (First, Second, and Third)

    • Program Committee Choice
