G.S.Q.A July Workshop and Meeting Workshop July 27, 2018 by Sherry Herringshaw
Yes, you can do it! Are you afraid of handling small pieces? Do you feel your fingers are too big? Do you not know where to begin? Do you have a basket of scraps you just can’t throw away, but are too small for your usual projects? Take this class and learn some simple techniques that can eliminate some of these fears. Let me show you how it can be done. Learn a few of the simple techniques I use when making miniature quilt blocks. For each technique one or more block patterns will be given. Class discussion will include how to set blocks, sew narrow borders, quilting and 1/8” bindings. All examples will be done for blocks three inches or smaller, but can be applied to any size block. After taking this class, students should find their sewing precision and accuracy has increased.
There will be no “one” project made. Each student can take the techniques learned and create a miniature quilt using one or more of the blocks created in the class. For illustration, there will be many show and tell miniature quilts to view. A class supply list will be available on this web page at a later date (late May?). Some pre class work may be required Class enrollment is limited to 20 students.
